There a many reasons why a man may choose anabolic steroids both licit and illicit uses. Some motivations may include perceived vanity, desire to compete, medical reasons such as cachexia due to cancer or wasting diseases.
Usually when a man is self-medicating there will a greater risk of harm to health both mentally and physically. Regardless of the reason for using anabolic steroids, at some point the use of these substances ends and what’s left behind is usually a suppressed pituitary gland and a depleted hormone state along with potential health issues from disturbances in the male hormone secretion.
Reducing this risk is of utmost importance for empathetic doctors focused on limiting the harm to one’s health that comes from the aftermath of anabolic steroid use and potential misuse.
This video series Balance My Hormones produced is not intended to lay blame or judgement on the man that finds himself using anabolic steroids agents but rather to educate and inform them of options to optimise their health and wellness. Any intervention that can help a man improve his current state of knowledge and take action to improve his health is welcomed.
We have interviewed Dr George Touliatos, often referred to as Dr T or Dr Testosterone and is a specialist in TRT and anabolic steroid harm reduction. He has been appointed as our European Medical Director for Balance My Hormones to help support and inform men of options they can take to lessen the negative impacts of anabolic steroids when they are misused. He also specialises in post cycle therapy and provides a more holistic approach to cardiovascular health and wellness, including agents that can optimise various health indicators.
Dr Testosterone understands the danger typical body enthusiasts and body builders face when approaching the traditional medical establishment and his hope is to help normalise and bring them into the fold to safely manage their health and wellness.
In this video the doctor will discuss therapeutic uses of these anabolic substances including there origins and journey from mainstream medicine to being banned and listed as a doping agent. He will discuss strategies to help restart a man’s own natural testosterone where possible and when and how to transition to testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) when recovery from a suppression is no longer possible.
