What is Hormone Replacement Therapy / HRT?

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is a common treatment used to help relieve the symptoms of the menopause in women. It works by replacing hormones that are at lower levels than they should be as you approach the menopause.

If you are a suitable candidate for BHRT you can obtain it on prescription through our doctors and they may offer you the following ways of administering BHRT:

  • Topical creams / Gels

  • Once your blood test results are back a doctor will speak to you and let you know if they believe you need HRT.
  • You will be prescribed a monthly treatment which will take the form of either gels/creams or lozenges.
