At-Home Testosterone Test

Our at-home testosterone test allows you to take the first step in finding out whether testosterone deficiency could be causing your symptoms.

Most TRT journeys begin with this simple step. You can choose between a finger-prick test or a Tasso device from the drop-down menu

This Test Measures:

This full hormone screening test checks for levels of:

  •  Total testosterone
  •  Free testosterone
  •  SHBG (Sex Hormone Binding Globulin)
  • Albumin

If your results show any of the following, the next step is to complete a comprehensive follow-up blood test (a requirement in the UK before starting Testosterone Replacement Therapy):

  •  Total testosterone: below 15 nmol/L
  •  Free testosterone: below 0.35 nmol/L
How it Works:

How it Works:

After purchasing your blood testing kit, you will receive your chosen option in the post. Please follow the included instructions carefully to ensure accurate results.

Once you have collected your sample, post it back to the laboratory. We will contact you with your results, typically within three days of the lab receiving your sample.

If you experience any issues with the finger-prick or Tasso devices, this test can also be performed venously at one of our partner clinics.

Please note that this option incurs an additional phlebotomy fee.

Contact us if you would like to arrange this.

Making Sense of Your Results:

Testosterone: Total testosterone measures the overall amount of testosterone circulating in your blood. Low levels may lead to symptoms such as reduced libido, low mood, and decreased muscle mass and strength.

Free Testosterone: Free testosterone represents the amount of testosterone your body can actually use. It’s possible for total testosterone to be normal while free testosterone is low, often due to high levels of SHBG — a protein that binds testosterone and makes it inactive. Low free testosterone can cause similar symptoms to overall low testosterone.

SHBG: SHBG (sex hormone-binding globulin) is a protein that binds to testosterone, reducing the amount available for the body to use.

Albumin: Albumin is a protein made by the liver that carries hormones, including testosterone, in the blood. It also reflects general health and nutrition levels
