WHAT TYPE OF TESTS SHOULD I EXPECT?

The test will be based on your patient intake or hormone questionnaire test. Saliva testing is the ideal method for a 5 point cortisol test. Blood is ideal for sex hormones (testosterone, oestrogen, progersterone, and morning cortisol.

I WANT TO BOOK A CONSULTATION; DO I NEED A REFERAL?

No, you do not necessarily need your doctor’s referrals. However, you are expected to provide all your medical documents to the medical facilitator before your consultation and will then be offered a choice of access points to the doctor.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS I SHOULD EXPECT AFTER THE HORMONE THERAPY?

The side effects vary depending on the type of the hormone therapy you have while some side effects vary from the drug used. The side effects also depend on the gender of the patient.

In men:

  • There may be cases of tiredness
  • Difficulty getting an erection between 3 to 12 months of the treatment
  • Sweating and hot flushes
  • Weight gain
  • Breast tenderness (high dose of bicalutamide)
